Shaftless Screw Conveyor
A shaftless screw conveyor has only a spiral without a center shaft. The screw then rotates on a liner which is typically made from ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene material. The only connection point in a shaftless screw conveyor is at the drive end.
Shaftless screw conveyors are ideal for handling slushy, sticky, wet, and lumpy materials. They can be totally enclosed for corrosive or hazardous requirements. Without the need for hanger bearings, a shaftless conveyor can easily operate at a fill rate of 50%. For applications such as live bottom hoppers, and feeder, it is possible to run a shaftless screw conveyor at 100%.
Each conveyor is factory assembled complete with all mechanical parts and supports required for proper operation. The advantages include no intermediate bearings, no center pipe, lower maintenance costs, longer life, and increased screw capacity.
